ALL IN THE FAMILY
Many family businesses have their own unique personality that comes from a unique set of values – often coming directly from the founding families. This inspires great pride and energy for everyone involved. However, when not navigated carefully, values and legacy can create challenges and even negative effects for family businesses.
Family Business Development is specialized work. One must be equally proficient in both family and business issues. Respect for the (sometimes faint) boundaries between business and family and a high level of confidentiality are crucial. A written document called the Family Business Covenant will be developed to define key elements of family business operation, communication and leadership between family and non-family members in the business.
Working with families and many different organizations throughout the past 29 years, along with practicing as a Certified Counselor with a supporting masters degree in Organizational Psychology, Dan has unique educational and practical approach for success in Family Business Development.
